Overview
The Rainforest Retreat is an eco-tourism lodge where you can see coffee, cardamom, pepper, vanilla being organically cultivated under the shade of rainforest trees. Anglers can also try their hand at catching the mighty Masheer in the nearby Cauvery river. The avifauna you can find here are kites, eagles, falcons, partridges, wild fowl, owls, parakeets, cokoos, nightjars, woodpeckers, larks, swallows, orioles, barbets, bulbuls, minivets, drongos, flycatchers, sunbirds, flowerpeckers etc
Accommodation
Accommodation is available in two types of cottages. The First Cottage is an elegant cottage set in a rustic surrounding of bamboo, banana, coffee, and orange plants and surrounded by a crystal clear stream. It is equipped with 2 independent bedroom units with attached western bathrooms (one standard and one deluxe with bathtub), a common living room with a cozy fireplace and two verandahs with breat taking view. The cottage is powered by eco-friendly 12V solar lighting and hot water is available from a traditional fire-heated copper vessel.
A second Plantation Cottage is even more rustic with two comfortable, independent rooms each with fireplace, solar lighting and attached western toilets. This situated 200 meters inside the plantation.
Dining
The cuisine available here is a careful selection of delicious Indian and Continental goodies. You can feast on home-made breads and pastas, savory curries, fresh seafood, locally grown organic vegetables and fruits (passion fruit, avacado, pineapple, mango, papaya, orange, etc.) and gourmet coffee.
